Mushroom ID and Walk
Curious about the wondrous world of mushrooms? There is a remarkable array of colors and shapes and uses for those who are willing to discover them. We will have an indoor presentation to learn some identification characteristics, learn some of the poisonous ones, some useful (medicinal and dye) and then learn some of the edible ones from our area. Once we gain some knowledge we will spend the last hour walking around Cedar Grove and see what the rain (we hope!) conjured up. Of course, mushrooms are fickle and mysterious, and their appearance cannot be guaranteed. While this is geared more for adults, interested children are welcome to sign up. Instructor: Sherri Scott. Chico Creek Nature Center.
