Senior Fitness Classes
This class is designed to give both a cardiovascular and strength workout using aqua dumbbells, pool noodles, music, and other aqua tools. Relax in the warm water of CSC's Therapy pool while experiencing new ways to add spice to your exercising routine. This class is open to adults at all levels of mobility. Location: Chico Sports Club (260 Cohasset Rd).
Combining the benefits of stretch, relaxation, and deep breathing with buoyancy and water resistance. No prior yoga experience or swimming knowledge needed. Increase your range of motion and relaxation using the benefits of warm water. Aqua yoga is great exercise for people with joint issues, injuries or arthritis. Start your day with a soothing, yet invigorating, workout. Location: Chico Sports Club (260 Cohasset Rd).
An engaging low-impact, chair based exercise program designed to provide a full body workout. Exercises will be done standing and/or seated based on individual ability levels. Participants will engage in aerobic movement choreographed to music, focusing on balance and coordination challenges; strength/endurance training utilizing stretch bands, light weights and body weight resistance, flexibility and relaxation. Senior Wellness Program
The Senior Wellness Program is designed for adults 55 or older who have a variety of medical issues that include, but are not limited to: high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, joint replacements, cardiac, and/or pulmonary issues. As a member of the Senior Wellness Program, you will receive an individualized program for the Water Wellness and/or the Fitness Floor Class. You will be continually monitored and will progress as you gain stamina, strength, and better range of motion. Please allow time after you register for scheduling your initial consultation and program design. Contact Stephanie or at 343-5678 x 108 with any questions and to set up an appointment for an initial consultation and paperwork prior to the first class. Stretch and Tone
The most rewarding part of getting more fit is noticing the difference it makes in the rest of our lives! Whether you choose to use the mats or remain seated in a chair, this low-impact workout will strengthen your core, while emphasizing the importance of balance, mobility, flexibility and range of motion. Feeling stressed? Low on energy? We have just the class for you! For centuries, people have been using yoga to enhance the body and mind. Yoga has been known to reduce stress and increase energy, as well as improve muscle tone and flexibility. This yoga class is suitable for the beginner as well as those who have taken yoga classes before. You will learn basic yoga postures, breathing practices, meditation, and relaxation. Tai Chi - Serenity Through Movement
Has your life become too hectic? Do you feel sluggish and without energy? Tai Chi is the movement of the human body, mind and spirit in harmony with nature. Tai Chi helps students achieve balance by slowing down the “too speedy” and energizing the “too slow.” Our students have reported a calmer mind, happier mood, decreased tension, increased power, and improved coordination. Gentle Integral Yoga
Do you want all the health benefits of yoga at a slower and gentler pace? This class is suitable for beginners, seniors, or anyone who is interested in a slower-paced class.
