Are you tired of the clutter? At a loss as to where to put things? Are you drowning in paper? Eliminate the stress and overwhelm by learning the tools and systems you can put in place to organize your home and simplify your life. Taught by local professional organizer Natalie Conrad, you will walk away from class understanding how to create an organizing plan, develop new organization skills, and move from overwhelmed to in control. Student Success Institute

After completion of this 3-day institute, students hold the essential tools needed to maximize their academic performance. Each 2.5 hour day covers two of the following topics: Time Management, Test-Taking Tips, Overcoming Procrastination, Avoiding Plagiarism, Preventing Test-Taking Anxiety, and Managing Emotions for Success. Give your student what they need to find the success they deserve. David Welton teaches student success workshops at Butte College and is an instructor in the First Year Experience Program for freshmen at CSU, Chico. June class will be held at the Dorothy Johnson Center, Cedar Room. July class will be held at CARD Community Center, Room 3.

Pickers 101-NEW

Learn the art of picking! The thrill of the hunt! Learn how to spot that treasure when you are at an auction, estate sale or antique shop. Participants may bring one item for discussion. Free Tax Assistance

Volunteers in Tax Assistance (VITA) is a group of very special volunteers that have made a commitment to provide local seniors and low income households with FREE Tax Preparation at various locations throughout the County. A detailed flyer is available at the CARD Office. Please come prepared with the proper documents. This is a first come first served service.

Welcome to Medicare

Do you want to change your Part D plan? Did you know that you might be eligible for extra help paying for your prescriptions? If you have any questions about Medicare, you don't want to miss this meeting. The Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) at Passages Adult Resource Center will present an information forum for those on Medicare, or those who are interested in learning about the changes and benefits of the Medicare Part D prescription drug programs. AARP Mature Driving Classes

The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation's first and largest classroom refresher course for drivers aged 50 and older. This class is offered by AARP each month. Completion certification is good for 3 years and provides insurance discounts to most companies. Payment is required at the time of registration and checks are payable to CARD. Bring your current AARP card to class and receive a $2.00 refund on your class registration. CARD Community Center.

Preparing for Emergencies - NEW

Do you ever wonder what you should do when there is a power outage or a wildland fire evacuation? Do you have the proper survival kit when an emergency happens? Chico Fire Inspector, Marie Fickert, has the answers to all these questions. She will provide you with the knowledge to become prepared for an emergency in your area.  In class you will see what a 72 hour survival kit should contain and one lucky participant will go home with the 72 hour kit from Marie.
