THRIVE Program
Dear Homeschool Families: We are excited to be working with THRIVE for these great programs. CARD is an approved vendor for CORE and South Sutter. If you are interested in using your school funds to participate in these classes, you must follow the proceedures below.

1) Request a purchase order from your school
2) Bring a copy of the purchase order to the CARD office at 545 Vallombrosa Ave.
3) Complete a CARD registration form and the 3rd party payer form at the office.

Unfortunately at this time online registration is not available if you are using a purchase order to pay for your class. We hope you enjoy these classes! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ann Willmann at 895-4711 ext. 115.

How Does That Work?
Have you always wondered how things work? What makes that clock tick? How does pedaling a bike make it move forward? How does a washing machine spin? Join us to explore, take apart, reassemble, build, create and learn. Possible projects include: taking apart toys, watches, music boxes, appliances, car parts and more, building bridges, towers, robots and mini cars, working motors and more. This is a place where children are free to learn, inspire, imagine, create, play, and shine! Learning invitations are presented in a prepared environment that fosters imagination, self- motivation, and meaningful work. There is a $20 supply fee payable to the advisor on the first day.  Advisor- Cyndi Pereira. Limited to 8 participants. No class 2/20, 3/19, 3/21 and 4/9. Location: PV Rec Center, 2320 North Ave.

The Lunch Bunch
Join us with your packed lunch for some free play and munching time. This would be great to add for the family looking for an extra hour at the beginning or end of their M,W session or a family who is choosing both How Does That Work? and Creation Station. No supply fee. No food provided please send your child with a packed lunch. Advisor- Cyndi Pereira. Limited to 8 participants. No class 2/20, 3/19, 3/21 and 4/9. Creation Station
Do you have an idea for something you have been wanting to build, create, invent, paint, or draw? Looking for inspiration to create? This is the space for you. Literature, art books, websites, photographs, magazines, nature, music and idea sharing will spark the imagination. Various art supplies and techniques including; paint, clay, collage materials, legos, building blocks, use of computer software, photography, drawing with ink and markers, and more may be supplied and explored. Creations may be worked on individually or as a team. Advisor will be available to assist you in gathering needed supplies, guiding you through exploring new techniques and offering ideas for building upon, displaying, showcasing, sharing or patenting your creations. This is a place where children are free to learn, inspire, imagine, create, play, and shine! Learning invitations are presented in a prepared environment that fosters imagination, self- motivation, and meaningful work. There is a $25 supply fee payable to the advisor on the first day.  Advisor- Cyndi Pereira. Limited to 8 participants. No class 2/20, 3/19, 3/21 and 4/9. Location: PV Rec Center, 2320 North Ave.

Our Natural World
Love to explore nature? Do you like to gather, experiment with and create art using rocks, leaves, plants and other natural items? Want to learn more about bugs, spiders and reptiles? Imaginations will be sparked through literature, non-fiction books, websites, photographs, magazines, nature, critters, music and idea sharing. Various art mediums will always be available for students to capture or write about their experiences in our natural world. We will take frequent walking field trips to the Lindo Channel. This is a place where children are free to learn, inspire, imagine, create, play, and shine! Learning invitations are presented in a prepared environment that fosters imagination, self- motivation, and meaningful work. There is a $20 supply fee payable to the advisor on the first day.  Advisor- Cyndi Pereira. Limited to 8 participants. No Class 3/8, 3/20, 3/22, and 4/10. Location: PV Rec Center, 2320 North Ave.

Art in the Afternoon

Creations may be worked on individually or collaboratively. I will be available to assist you in gathering needed supplies, guiding you through exploring new techniques and offering ideas for building upon, displaying, showcasing, sharing, or marketing  your creations. This is a place where children are free to learn, inspire, imagine, create, play, and shine! Learning invitations are presented in a prepared environment that fosters imagination, self- motivation, and meaningful work. There is a $25 supply fee payable to the advisor on the first day.  Advisor- Meghan Anderson-Coates. Limited to 8 participants. No Class 2/20 and 3/19.  Location: PV Rec Center, 2320 North Ave.

Symposium Session 

Do you like to gather with others for stimulating conversation and to exchange ideas? Want to get more involved in your community? Imaginations will be sparked through sharing literature, non-fiction books, websites, articles, music, and ideas. Session attendees will also have the opportunity to meet at various locations in our community to participate in service projects or events on other days. In addition, we may invite guest speakers to explore topics more in depth, as interests dictate. The teens will be driving the direction of this program, therefore no topic will be off limits for discussion. This is a place where children are free to learn, inspire, imagine, create, play, and shine! Learning invitations are presented in a prepared environment that fosters imagination, self- motivation, and meaningful work. There is a $15 supply fee payable to the advisor on the first day.  Advisor- Meghan Anderson-Coates. Limited to 12 participants. No Class 2/17, 3/23, 4/6, and 4/27. Location: PV Rec Center, 2320 North Ave.

Tween Social Time 

Join us every Friday morning at Thrive from 9:30 to 11:30 for tween social time in Room 3. There are games, puzzles, building materials (Lego, Ello, etc), and outdoor space to provide a rich environment for socializing. A tween is aged 10ish to 12ish. Drop in or register in advance. There is no supply fee for this session.  Advisor- Meghan Anderson-Coates. Limited to 12 participants. No Class 2/17, 3/23, 4/6, and 4/27. Location: PV Rec Center, 2320 North Ave.
