Mutt Strutt Chico-NEW

Bring your four legged friend to this class that explores "dog friendly" landscapes all around Chico. Each week we will visit a different location where you will learn how to handle yourself and your furry friend in each environment. A Butte Humane Society trainer and park official will be available to help teach dogs and their owners much needed skills that will help navigate each terrain. Please come with a 4 foot. (no flexi leash), dog treats and comfortable shoes for walking. An email confirmation will be sent with meeting locations once you have registered. There is a $15 supply fee payable at the first class meeting.

Dog Obedience - Puppy Toddler

Puppy Toddler is for puppies ages 4-6 months as of the first night of class. Your puppy must have had two (2) vaccines before coming to class and preferably not vaccinated within three (3) days before class. This is a jump-start class to Basic Obedience. In this class, your puppy will learn to sit, lie down, come and walk in heel position. They will learn proper social skills with other dogs and humans alike. Your puppy will also be building confidence in the class by learning to walk on strange surfaces and going through tunnels. This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your puppy to begin your puppy's obedience. This class will also assist you with behavior problems. You will need a training collar on your puppy, a leash, dog treats and comfortable shoes for walking. Any student under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Instructor: Lynda Piercy. Community Park near the south side grass area of the tennis courts and concessions.

Basic Dog Obedience


The object of this class is to teach you how to train your dog. Your dog will learn to walk in heel position, sit in heel position, sit stay, down stay, stand for exam, come and sit in front of you and return to heel position. Your dog's health, breed, temperament and experience all affect how he/she learns. Please be aware that some dogs may learn faster than others. Your dog will learn to pay attention with distractions. You will need a training collar on your dog, a 4-foot leash, dog treats and preferably non-skid comfortable shoes for walking. Any student under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Instructor: Lynda Piercy. Community Park near the south side grass area of the tennis courts and concessions.
