Senior Wellness

The Senior Wellness Program is designed for individuals 55 or older who have a variety of medical issues that include, but are not limited to, high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, joint replacements, cardiac issues, and pulmonary issues.  As a member of the Senior Wellness, you will receive an individualized program for the Water Wellness class and/or the Fitness Floor class.  You will be continually monitored and progressed as you gain stamina, strength, better range of motion etc.  Please contact Stephanie or Bree 2 weeks prior to the start date of your class to schedule your fitness assessment at 343-5678 ext. 311. Fitness for Parkinson's Patients

Don't be afraid to move!  We invite you to join a group class for individuals living with Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, or other movement disorders.  Strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination exercises designed to keep you moving are presented in a fun and supportive atmosphere.  Most of the class is done seated and includes graceful movement drawn from yoga and dance to ease stiffness and improve mobility.  Where appropriate, we will progress to movement strategies and standing exercises done with or without support to further address balance, hip flexibility, and leg strength. Instructor: Adrienne Wrightson. Studio address will be provided at time of registration.

FUNctional Fitness!

This is a low to no impact, chair based exercise program designed to accommodate the needs of the older adult population. Exercises can be performed standing and/or seated based on individual ability levels. You will engage in aerobic movement choreographed to music; balance and coordination challenges; strength/endurance training utilizing stretch bands, light weights, and body weight as resistance; flexibility and relaxation…mixed with fun, socializing and laughter! Qi Gong(Chi Kung)

Qi Gong, "Air Exercise" or "Breath Work" is the practice and process of cultivating Qi(Chi), or internal energy and awareness. This experiential class will  focus on breathing and relaxation in various postures in order to cultivate Qi. Through mindfulness, stretching and movement the practice of Qi Gong fosters increased  body awareness, improves flexibility and balance, and enhances health. CARD Community Center, Room 3. Tai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi  -  Serenity Through Movement

Tai Chi movement is the movement of the human body, mind, and spirit in harmony with the rhythm of Nature.  Tai Chi slows down the "too speedy" and energizes the "too slow".  Students report calmer mind, happier mood, decreased tension, increased power, and improved coordination.  Be like the bamboo that bends but does not break - deeply rooted and flexible.  Instructor: Suzanne Roth, RPT.  PV Recreation Center, Social Hall. Yoga

This Integral Yoga class is suitable for beginning and returning students. You will receive in depth instruction on basic Yoga postures, breathing practices, meditation and deep-relaxation. These ancient Yogic practices will increase your flexibility, strengthen and tone your muscles, and relieve stress. Stretch and Tone

Water Walking

Senior Aqua Class
