Hooker Oak Park is one of Chico’s oldest outdoor recreation facilities.  Sharing it’s boundary with the beautiful Big Chico Creek adjacent to Bidwell Park, this full service park offers an array of recreation and leisure activities.  Barbecues and picnic areas compliment family outings with playground equipment for two age groups.

Sherwood Forest Kids' Disc Golf Course Opening Day March 3, 2008   
The Chico Area Recreation and Park District, in partnership with, The Outsiders, a recreation group, have been working to build a children's nine-hole disc golf course at Hooker Oak Park.  The course took on a Robin Hood theme to honor the 1938 film "The Adventures of Robin Hood" that was filmed nearby.
 
On Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., the Sherwood Forest kids' disc golf course will have an opening day event. 150 commemorative golf discs will be handed out to children. Please attend this event and enjoy a fun filled day with your family and friends.
