Why Should You Choose CARD Sports Camps?

If you have a child that loves sports and wants to try different sports throughout the summer, we have something for you. Your child will be in a fun, safe and sports savvy environment. We teach and fine tune (for the more advance players) basic fundamentals of the sport that will help your child succeed in that sport and most importantly walk away with a love for the game. We stress the importance of team work, sportsmanship and fun.

Where are the Sports Camps held?

Camps are located within Community Park located on MLK Dr. off of 20^th street. (unless noted otherwise) Depending on the sport, we are using either the gym or the fields for our day of fun. 

What happens in the full day options versus the half day options?

Mornings are filled with sport specific fundamentals and game play from 8:00 am to noon. The half day option officially ends at 12:15 pm. If your child is staying for the full day, we focus on fun activities and games related to the sport, but also give a little down time. With our years of experience we have found that making the afternoon less sport specific creates a variety for the children so they do not become bored or disinterested in the sport. What experience does the sports camp staff have?

We hire friendly, positive, high energy and knowledgeable staff who love teaching and sharing their love of the game with all participants. All coaches have high school, college and/or club coaching/playing experience to ensure that we are at a high coaching level for each sport. All coaches are CPR/First Aid certified and have attended several CARD specific trainings to ensure that they are the best possible fit for your child and camp.

Are these camps advanced or recreational?

Our camps are designed for all types of players and will adjust to the levels of each child participating. We will separate kids in drills and game play based on the skill level they are comfortable playing at to insure every child feels confident and excited about playing, whether they are just beginning or more advanced.

What are the age requirements for camp?

This year we are registering kids by grade. The grades noted are the grade your child will be going starting in the fall 2013 school year.

ShortE All Stars Sports Camp

This is the ultimate sports experience for your little one! Based on our popular ShortE All Star weekend program, we have developed a week long camp for the ShortE's of Chico! Each day will focus on a new sport, including soccer, tee-ball, flag football, basketball and Olympics. All participants must be potty trained. Program will be held at the Dorothy Johnson Center.

Tennis Camp

This summer camp is designed for fun, fun and more fun while receiving quality tennis instruction! We believe if you plant tennis in the heart of your child they will never leave it behind. Camps are full of fun and games with different theme days including prize box day and personal achievement awards. Give the gift of tennis for life! Instructor: Raymond Rummell. Camp is held at the Community Park Tennis Courts.

Golf Camp

Fore! Come and join Golf Pro Ryan Trask for golf camp. Learn the basics of golf or expand on what you already know. A great way to spend the morning perfecting your game. Camp will be held at The Practice Tee at Sunset Hills. Campers should bring clubs if they have them, however loaner clubs are available.

Summer Kickers

This fun summer camp is back! Not only is Summer Kickers about learning a little Kung Fu, it  is about having fun and playing.  Come and spend a week with Master Vince and some of his experienced students. Each day will include a short Kung Fu session and then lots of indoor and outdoor games, crafts and fun. Instructor: Master Vince Scocozza. CARD Community Center, Room 1 & 2.

British Soccer Camp

Get A Discount on British Soccer Camp! Help us house our visiting coaches. If you host a coach in your home during the duration of the camp (1 week), your child will receive a PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIP ($80 Rebate) to attend the camp per each coach that you host!  If you are interested in hosting a coach, email Erin Gonzales at egonzales@chicorec.com,  or click here to find more information.   

Be a part of this exciting international experience! Actual British soccer coaches will be in Chico to coach both technical and tactical skills. Use the skills you learn from international coaches to help you excel at your game no matter what team you play for. This camp is like no other that you have been a part of. Participants are placed in groups/teams by age. Camp meets at the soccer fields at DeGarmo Park. Each participant registered in the program receives a hand stitched soccer ball and t-shirt.

"Above The Net" Volleyball Camp

Is your child ready to get "above the net"? Our annual summer volleyball camp is back, and we are excited! Flag Football Camp                                           

Be ready for sweat, dirt and fun at this camp! This instructional football camp is perfect for your child to improve their football skills without the risk of full-contact injury. Olympic Sports Camp

Everyone LOVES the Olympics! We expect everyone to be awed by the opening and closing ceremonies of the CARD Olympic Sports Camp. Participants will represent different "countries" and will compete against each other in sportsmanship, spirit, and more! Come be a part of the camp that is "gold medal" quality.  A variety of sports are played each day, including basketball, track, hockey, volleyball, relay races, soccer, and more! Olympic Sports Camp provides your child with a fantastic all around sports experience. GIRL POWER Sports Camp

This girls only sports camp will not only focus on different sports, but will build the confidence, leadership and self esteem in any girl that participates! Coaches will be past high school/college athletes. Each day will focus on a different sport, and will include field trips, healthy lifestyle habits, and team/confidence building activities.
