Day and Weekend Trips
Climb aboard our bus and leave the driving to us!  ALL trips include transportation from Chico, Paradise, and Oroville. Detailed flyers on each trip are available at the CARD office or online at www.chicorec.com.  Online registration is now available for all of our day/weekend trips.

Please make sure you register early as many trips get canceled due to lack of enrollment 1 week prior to the trip registration deadline.     
 
REFUND POLICY
All cancellations must be made to the CARD Office and not to the tour escort. In the event of a cancellation, refunds will be based on the cost to CARD at the time the cancellation is made, i.e.: hotels, meals, admissions, etc. Last date for cancellation/refund is thirty (30) days prior to scheduled tour, unless another date is listed.

Yosemite in the Spring Time!

 See the magnificent water falls at the peak of their season. You will have 2 ½ days to explore the park. Included is a hosted lunch at the Awhanne Hotel and 2 nights lodging with a continental breakfast.  There will be time spent with a professional photographer at a workshop on the best ways to photograph the falls.

Eleven Roses Ranch

Board the van and take a beautiful drive to Clearlake where you will tour a working ranch. Aboard a Mule drawn wagon, you will learn the history of the ranch and watch for signs of spring quickly approaching. Before heading home, you will enjoy a BBQ Chuck Wagon lunch & local wine tasting. This is a great photo trip!

Feats of Clay Gladding McBean

Travel to Lincoln and walk back in history to 1875. Tour a working factory where the majority of the worlds Terra Cotta products are produced by hand. There will be time to view artwork from the Feats of Clay and the gift shop.  A hosted lunch is included. After lunch there will be an opportunity to check out some of the local antique shops in Lincoln.

California Academy of Sciences and Steinhart Aquarium

This one day tour includes highlights of Golden Gate Park.  Your journey begins as you are transported by motor coach to the City by the Bay. You will arrive at the California Academy of Sciences and the Steinhart Aquarium for a self guided tour. After the Academy, there will be time to enjoy a boxed lunch and visit the Japanese Tea Garden and Conservatory of Flowers. The trip ends with a visit to Fisherman's Wharf for a no host dinner.

A Day on the Ridge…Gold Nugget Museum and Merlo Park

Start the day with a docent led tour of the Gold Nugget Museum in Paradise. Learn about the Gold Rush Days in Butte County. See a collection of Maidu Indian artifacts, historic buildings and gold mining equipment. After the museum, we travel to beautiful Merlo Park in Sterling City. We will enjoy a box lunch in the beautiful 20 acre park that is home to a wide variety of trees, woodland creatures, water features and nature trails.

Lassen Volcanic National Park and McArthur-Burney Falls

This tour will showcase two of Northern California's most notable sites. Mt. Lassen's last eruption was in the early 1900's and is famous for hydrothermal features. On our drive through the park, we will have time to see the mud pits at Bumpass Hell boardwalk. Our second stop takes us to the Cascade Range to Burney Falls for a box lunch and time to walk the trails or just view the beautiful 129 foot waterfall.
