| | CHICO GIRLS SOFTBALL LEAGUE - NEW
Sign your daughter up for a program that is going to have them begging for a game of catch everyday! CARD has worked with several leaders in the softball community to develop a program that will focus on skill development in a positive environment. This program will be between 12-13 weeks (Feb 28th-May 28th) and will take place at DeGarmoPark. Special features of the program include: a skills evaluation system to form teams, dedicated coach trainers, snack bar, FREE Softball Clinics (see complete information below) and much more! Each player, volunteer parent coach and umpire is ASA certified and each coach will go through the ASA formal ACE (Achieve, Certify, Educate) Coaching Certification Program. Scholarships are available. Please contact the CARD Office for information on how to apply.

| | **EQUIPMENT: Catchers gear will be provided for all teams. Helmets and Bats are available at games to the K-6 and 7-8 divisions, but parents may want to purchase their own. Each player will need to have their own glove and footwear for all divisions. Ages 9 and up will need to have their own helmet.
AGE DIVISION INFORMATION (Age as of Jan 1, 2009)
K-6 Year Old Division
·One practice and one game per week
·Instruction focused, no playoffs, no all-stars, no umpires
·Coach pitch and tee available for each player
·9” safety softball used
·Smaller field sizes for improved skill development and success
·T-shirt uniform and visor included
·Helmets and bats provided at games
·Every player bats the entire game and plays the whole game on defense
·Game time limit is 1 hour
7-8 Year Old Division
·One practice and one game per week
·Round Robin friendship tournament to end season (3 game guarantee)
·Instruction focused, no playoffs, no all-stars, one plate umpire
·Beginning pitching instruction with coach pitch and/or ball machine pitching. No walks.
·10” safety softball used
·Smaller field sizes for improved skill development and success
·T-shirt and visor included
·Helmets and bats provided at games
·Every player bats the entire game and plays at least half the game on defense
·Game time limit is 1.25 hours
9-10 Year Old Division
·One practice per week and two games per week
·Twelve-fourteen game schedule
·Development focused, playoff system, all-stars, two umpires provided
·11”reduced injury factor (RIF) ball used
·Two button shirt and visor included
·Every player bats the entire game and plays at least half the game on defense
·Game time limit is 1.5 hours
11-12 Year Old Division
·One practice per week and two games per week
· Twelve-sixteen game schedule
·Development focused, playoff system, all-stars, two umpires provided
·Full button Jersey and visor included
·Every player bats the entire game and plays at least half the game on defense
·Game time limit is 1.5 hours
13-16 Year Old Division
·One practice per week and two games per week
·Twelve-sixteen game schedule
·Development focused, playoff system, all-stars, two umpires provided
·Full button Jersey and visor included
·Every player bats the entire game and plays at least half the game on defense
·Game time limit is 1.75 hours | |

| | CHICO GIRLS SOFTBALL LEAGUE CLINICS – FREE
Sign up for our FREE Softball Clinics. Give your child the gift of a great clinic that will excite them and prepare them for their league play and keep them moving during spring break! Clinics will feature instruction on pitching, hitting and defense. Both clinics will be held at DeGarmo Park. You must be registered in the Chico Girls Softball League to attend these clinics.
