The park sits within Bidwell Park, and is owned by the City of Chico, but operated and maintained by CARD. This 35 acre community park is the former site of the large hooker oak tree which was its namesake and a featured element in the 1930’s movie Robin Hood. This 35 acre park was developed in 1953 and includes the following amenities:
The Chico Area Recreation and Park District, in partnership with, The Outsiders, a recreation group, worked to build a children's nine-hole disc golf course at Hooker Oak Park in 2008.
