Learning to Speak Dragon: The Science and Biology of Stress

This class gives an overview of stress and its affect on body and mind. We will explore the latest research on stress and stress reduction. Topics include; your 3 brains, the stress response, the neurochemistry of stress, the biology of stress and impact on body systems, rewiring the brain away from chronic stress, mindfulness, HRV (Heart Rate Variability) and its role in emotional management, and gratitude your superpower. This class provides practical tools and techniques you can use to improve your life. Emphasis is on strategies that work and can be implemented to improve overall health and function.  Instructor: Rich Varlinsky. CARD Community Center.  Registration required.
