Rotary Centennial Park Grand Opening Celebration

CARD and Rotary Club of Chico is hosting a Grand Opening celebration for Rotary Centennial Park on Saturday, December 4, from 9 a.m.– 1 p.m. The event will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, basketball competition for youth and adults, music, games, and tours of the new park features including:

• A multi-use turf field
• Children’s play area, slides, swings, and rope tower merry-go-round
• Multiple areas with picnic tables and structures
• Basketball court

Rotary Centennial Park is located on the corner of Ceres Avenue and Whitewood Way in northeast Chico.

Admission to the Grand Opening is free! The day’s schedule is as follows:

  • 9 a.m.–9:30 a.m.—Ribbon cutting ceremony with refreshments provided by CARD and Rotary Club
  • 10–10:30 a.m.—Self-guided walking tours of all-new park features
  • 11:00 a.m. –1:00 p.m.— Open play with CARD sponsored sidewalk chalk drawing, hula hoops, music, games and fun!
  • 11–11:30 a.m.—Basketball competition for youth
  • 11:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. — Basketball competition for adults
