Songwriting Camp

The Songwriting Camp introduces students to the songwriting process and provides guidance for them to write, arrange, and perform their own original songs, and to record a live performance of at least one original song in our studio. Students may also collaborate with classmates on songs—many perform backing vocals or instrumental accompaniment. All genres of music are welcome in the program, and no prior writing experience is necessary. Most days, the class structure is split, with half of the day spent learning basic music theory, recording, and learning to deconstruct famous songs to learn elements they will use in their composition. The rest of the day, students write and rehearse their original songs, and receive individualized guidance from their instructors. Campers must provide their own lunch and snacks each day. We suggest at least 6 months of musical experience. Camp fee includes a T-shirt! Student showcase will be Friday at 11:30 am. Campers are encouraged to invite friends and family.
