Upcoming Medicare Workshops

Passages HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program) works to inform and support our aging adult community. Here are our upcoming events, currently hosted through ZOOM:

Welcome to Medicare Workshop Series

Part 1: Medicare Part A, B, and Part D (Prescription Drug Plans)

Part 2: Medicare Advantage (Part C), Medigaps, programs to reduce Medicare costs, and how to avoid Medicare insurance fraud/scams

Welcome to Medicare Workshops are held the 2nd Tuesday and Wednesday of each month (10-11:30am):

May 10-11, June 14-15, July 12-13, August 9-10, September 13-14

Choosing how and when to get Medicare is an important but difficult decision. Oftentimes comprehending the different parts of Medicare, when to enroll, and which type of care will be covered can seem complicated. In these Workshops, information will be provided that will guide those aging into Medicare with understanding the options available to them, and where to get help with their decision-making.

Low Income Assistance Workshops – Partnered with California Health Advocates

May 4 (10-11am):  "Food or Medications!" -  Learn how to reduce your Medicare Part D costs so you don't have to make hard choices. This Workshop will review the Low Income Subsidy Program.

July 6 (10-11am):  "Part B Premium Refund" - Learn how to get $170.10 back into your bank account using California's new eligibility criteria. This Workshop will review Medicare Savings Programs.
