Downtown Chico Ice Rink

The Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD) is thrilled to announce an exciting partnership with the City of Chico, the Downtown Chico Business Association (DCBA), and Paradise Recreation and Park District for the upcoming 2023 Downtown Chico Ice Skating Rink season. CARD’s involvement will assist in recreational programming, rink operations, and special events.

As anticipation mounts for the upcoming season, the Vice Chairman of the CARD Board of Directors, Dave Donnan, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration.

"The Ice-Skating Rink provides a significant opportunity for us to forge strong partnerships, not only with the City of Chico and DCBA but also with the esteemed Paradise Park and Recreation District, which boasts a commendable track record in ice rink management," stated Donnan.

District Manager of the Paradise Park and Recreation District, Dan Efseaff, echoed this sentiment surrounding the partnership.

“Our District enjoys a long-standing collaborative relationship with CARD. The Paradise Ice Rink and Winter Wonderland are important not only to Ridge communities but to Butte County. We hope to work with CARD to help promote both programs.”

The grand opening of the Downtown Chico Ice Skating Rink is set to take place in mid-November, just in time for the Thanksgiving festivities. With CARD's dedicated involvement, a host of new features will be introduced, including ice-skating classes, fun themed events, and the option for community members to rent the rink for their own enjoyment.

Anjie Goulding, CARD's Recreation Director, shared her enthusiasm for the enhanced offerings the community can expect.

"We're so thrilled for the opportunity to be part of creating a truly memorable experience for the holiday season,” Goulding commented. “Our team is excited for this collaboration and is in the midst of brainstorming all the new and creative ways we can serve our community this winter. We can’t wait to see you at the rink!"
