ICE RINK
Most of the work for this position will take place on evenings, weekends, and holidays. The current proposed operating dates are November 13th to January 14th.
Ice Rink Team Member: Open until filled
- $15.50/hr, part-time & seasonal
- Under Supervision of the Recreation Supervisor and Coordinator, the Ice Rink Team Member is responsible for facilitating and monitoring public use of recreation facilities and/or assisting with the Ice Rink, ensuring that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
Ice Rink Director: Open until filled
- $18.50/hr, part-time & seasonal
- Under minimal direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Ice Rink director will oversee, supervise, implement, organize, and participate in a safe, fun, and enriching experience at the Chico Ice Rink. Responsible for facilitating and monitoring public use of the ice rink, ensuring that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
YOUTH SPORTS
GET PAID TO PLAY! Chico Area Recreation & Park District is accepting applications for staff for our programming. We are actively recruiting officials and coaches.
CARD is looking for energetic, passionate, and kind people to staff our upcoming programs. Staff is responsible for making sure all players/coaches/spectators are gaining a “love of the game” in a positive, safe, and age-appropriate environment while following the expectations and goals of the CARD Youth Sports Department.
Youth Sports - Basketball Coaches & Officials: Open Until Filled
- Part-time, $15.50/hr
- SCHEDULE: October 2023 through March 2024
- TIMES: Practice times will vary based on divisions, but will always start after 3:30p. Games will vary based on division, but always start after 5p during the weekdays and 8:30a on the weekends. Staff are assigned to programs based on availability, experience/knowledge, and amount of positive impact on the program.
AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM
After School Program Recration Leader: Open Untill Filled
- Part-time, $15.50/hr
- Employment Dates: The Fall 2023 semester runs through Dec 22, 2023. Employees have the opportunity to return for following semesters.
- Schedule: Work hours are Monday through Friday from 2:00-6:00 pm. We are currently hiring for substitute positions for the fall semester. To be hired as a substitute, you are not required to be available every day.
VOLUNTEERS
Youth Sports Volunteer:
We need your help! Our awesome volunteers are what makes our programs so special. We are looking for dedicated people who are interested in spreading a "love of the game" while helping youth in a positive and safe environment. Each position requires getting fingerprinted, attending a pre-season and on-site meeting, holding one practice a week during the season, and attending games.
We are currently recruiting Head Coach and Assistant Coaches for youth sports teams (5th grade and below). Typically volunteers only spend 3-4 hours per week for the duration of the season.

Animal Care Volunteer:
Are you interested in animals, educating others, and giving back to the community? Then come volunteer with us at the Chico Creek Nature Center! Our wonderful and hardworking volunteers are the backbone of the Living Animal Museum. As an Animal Care Volunteer, you will learn about our animals, handle and take care of them, and lead animal introductions for kiddos and the general public.
