Learn To Sew Boot Camp 

Experience sewing with a personal trainer.  Gain energy from a team of new sewists.  Choose the boot camp module(s) at your personal fitness level and build muscle in a new hobby. Please bring your machine in good working order (some machines available for rent, reserve at registration) and materials listed below.

Learn to Sew Boot Camp Materials List 

Module 3

Exercise your sewing skill and rid your vehicle of excess weight by sewing a storage sack. Form and apply seam binding, make straps and attach buckles. Workout project: seatback storage sack. 

Materials List:

1 yard of 44/45" medium weight cotton fabric for sack.

1/4 yard of 44/45" contrasting medium weight cotton fabric for binding.

1 spool of coordinating all-purpose thread. 

One 1" parachute buckle "quick-release clip"

Module 4

Move on to basic pattern reading, attaching pockets and creating a reversible garment, powerful enough to withstand kitchen workouts. Workout project: apron. 

Materials List:

1 yard medium weight woven cotton for front (non-stretchy).

1 yard light weight woven cotton for back (non-stretchy).

1/2 yard woven cotton for pocket (non-stretchy).

1 spool of all-purpose thread to blend with chose fabrics.

Module 5

Activate your sewing power with deeper pattern reading skills and basic fitting elements. Workout project: skirt. 

Materials List:

3 1/2 yards of 45" wide woven fabric such as lightweight denim, mid-weight linen, or double gauze (nothing stretchy). Wash, dry and press fabric before the first day.

1 1/2 yards of 2" wide soft waistband elastic.

1 spool of all-purpose thread to blend with fabric color.
