Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD) is ready to say, “so long!” to summer break at the annual Nature Center Ice Cream Social event on Saturday, August 19th, 2023, from 12–3 PM at the Chico Creek Nature Center, 1968 E 8th Street in Chico. The event is open to the public and promises to be a fun-filled day of free Shubert’s ice cream, nature hikes, crafts, and meeting our animals!
The Janeece Webb Living Animal Museum will be open with our naturalists there to introduce you to our beloved animal residents, including John the desert tortoise, Hydra the garter snake, Flash the turtle, Sue the tarantula, Bill and Ted the bunnies, and more!
For the kids, the event will feature naturalist-led nature walks, bounce houses, crafts, and face painting stations, providing them with hours of free entertainment and fun suitable for all ages.
This event is a fantastic opportunity for the Chico community to come together and celebrate the beautiful nature in Bidwell Park. Ride your bike and utilize our free bike valet and skip the hassle of parking!
