As the holiday season approaches, the Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD) is thrilled to announce its enthusiastic participation in Giving Tuesday, extending an invitation to friends and supporters to contribute to the joy at the Chico Ice Rink this festive season.

This Giving Tuesday, the Chico Ice Rink seeks to create a lasting impact by rallying community support. Donations will extend beyond the ice, brightening the faces of kids and families, and facilitating special events that radiate joy not just in Chico but resonate across Butte County and beyond.

As a token of appreciation, all donations of $25 and above will receive two tickets to the ice rink and acknowledgment on the official Chico Ice Rink website. Generous contributors of $200 and more will earn a special place on the donation wall outside the rink entrance, providing a prominent showcase of family support for the community. For those contributing $500 and above, an exciting opportunity awaits – the chance to have a personalized dasher board on the ice rink, not only advertising a business but also showcasing a festive, community spirit for Chico’s coolest tradition.

In this inaugural year under CARD's direction, Ice Rink Supervisor Andrés Corrales expressed great enthusiasm.

"We believe in creating memories through recreation that will last a lifetime," shared Corrales. "Be it the sense of accomplishment when a child takes their first successful glides across the ice or the happiness of having generations of families enjoy a moment of collective joy. Your generosity provides a vital role in being able to foster a sense of happiness and community."

Donors need not wait until Tuesday; they can make a difference any time throughout the season. Visit www.chicorec.gov/give to contribute or call 530-895-4711 for more information.

Join us at the Chico Ice Rink, located at 132 W 4th St, in Downtown Chico. For the latest updates on CARD, visit ChicoRec.gov and follow CARD on Facebook and @ChicoRec on Instagram.
