Exciting Summer Adventures Await: CARD Summer Camp Registration Opens April 1st

The Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD) is thrilled to announce the opening of registration for its highly anticipated summer camps and aquatics programs, starting April 1st. Offering a diverse range of camp experiences designed to engage, educate, and inspire youth of all ages, CARD invites families to explore the summer possibilities that await.

This summer, CARD is proud to present a wide range of 80+ camp options, catering to various interests and age groups. From outdoor adventures and sports clinics to creative arts and scientific explorations, there is something for every young camper eager to embark on a summer of fun and discovery.

“Summer is a time of adventure, learning, growth, and play,” said CARD’s general manager Annabel Grimm. “We’re excited to offer a variety of camps that promise not just fun, but meaningful experiences that will last a lifetime. Our team is dedicated to making this summer unforgettable for every camper.”

Highlighted Camps Include:

Camp Chi-Da-Ca: Experience the excitement of Chico’s oldest running day camp since 1951! Campers will enjoy a variety of fun activities in Hooker Oak Park, including singing camp songs, going on nature hikes, playing games, doing skits, and cooling off in Big Chico Creek.

Sports Camp: Gain a love of the game for life at Sports Camp! Your child will have the opportunity to better their skills, try something new, and make new friends.

Camp Chico Creek: Wild adventures await at the Chico Creek Nature Center! Camp Chico Creek provides outdoor exploration, builds friendships, and promotes a love for nature. Campers enjoy hands-on natural science labs, up-close animal encounters, nature walks, arts and crafts, building tree forts, swimming in Big Chico Creek, and camp BBQ’s every Friday.

Summertime Delight: Summertime Delight is a predominantly indoor camp with activities ranging from fun games, swimming in the PV Pool, kids’ clubs, sports, crafts, and weekly movies and field trips.

CARD Swim Lessons: CARD offers swimming lessons at the PV Pool for all ages! Kids will learn this incredibly important life skill in a safe, caring environment while having fun and making new friends!

Each camp promises to provide not only fun and entertainment, but also to encourage learning, personal growth, and the development of social skills. With experienced instructors and a commitment to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment, CARD summer camps are the perfect place for your child to make lifetime summer memories.

Summer Camp Registration Details:

Opening Date: April 1st, 8:00 AM

Scholarships: Financial assistance is available for qualifying families through the Jan Sneed Youth Scholarship program. Learn more at chicorec.gov/scholarship.
